Welcome.

This is a multi-stage application process. In the first stage you will complete and submit a preliminary application. The preliminary application will help us to determine if your project is a potential fit with our current program interests. If it’s a fit, then you may be invited to stage two where you will submit a fullapplication.

We strongly recommend that you read our latest program information to confirm that your work is consistent with our funding strategies before applying. Not all Kresge Foundation programs accept unsolicited grant applications.

Completing your onlineapplication

Once you start your application, you will have 120 days to completeit.

As you near completion, you will likely want to review the application before submitting it. You can review the information you’ve provided so far by clicking “Review My Application” at the top of each screen and make changes as needed.

Print the application. You can print your application at any point by clicking “Printer Friendly Version” at the top right of thescreen.

Attachments

The Kresge Foundation requires several documents of all applicants, including an organizational operatingbudget and demographic datasheet. The online application system will prompt you to attach each requireditem.

Some programs require additional information – called Supplemental Attachments.

You will be prompted to select the appropriate program to identify any required Supplemental Attachments.

Attachments must be submitted as Adobe Acrobat PDFs, or in Microsoft Word (DOC, DOCX), Microsoft Excel (XLS, XLSX) format. PDFs are preferred. Other formats cannot be read by reviewers and cannot be accepted.

Submitting your online application

Once you are finished, click [Review & Submit]. You will have one more opportunity to review your materials before submitting your application.If any elements are missing, you will be prompted to complete the relevant section before movingforward.

When you click [Submit] you will receive an email confirmation that we have received your application. Please make sure you enter your email address accurately on your application. If you do not receive an email confirmation shortly thereafter please email the Grants Inquiry Coordinator or call248-643-9630.

Do not mail a duplicate hard copy or any additional attachments or information.Program staff members will contact you if they have questions or need additionalinformation.

Our reviewprocess

After the application has been assigned to the appropriate Kresge Foundation Program Team for review, you will receive a second email notifying you of the program staff member who will serve as your primary point of contact.Your program staff member may contact you to discuss your application and follow-up with any additional questions. Kresge program staff sometimes will schedule site visits to organizations to further discuss proposedactivities.

Applications are reviewed and awards are made within six months from the submission of a complete full onlineapplication.
