TIME 100 Project:
Using the TIME 100 Most Influential People List of 2015 choose one person and create a presentation that tells us his/her story. You must select a person who is influential in his/her field, and you will need at least one source in addition to the TIME magazine website on the person you select. Your presentation must be 2-3 minutes in length and must do the following:
· Introduces this person to us.
· Defines/explains the field this person works within and how this field touches our lives.
· Provides background information: who he/she is and where he/she is from. Gives the audience a glimpse into the life of this person.
· Defining moment(s) that caused this person to realize his/her passion to take up his/her cause. Why did he/she enter the field or industry he/she is in, and what are some of his/her accomplishments?
Most importantly:
· Why is he/she influential? For some, this may seem obvious but you will need to think beyond what the sources tell you. For example, social media innovators have more of an impact than just providing a platform where we share our photos with each other. How might this have changed people’s lives?
· What might this person’s contributions lead to—how are others taking up this person’s work and building upon it?
Other:
· Smart Board visuals are not required, however you are free to include a visual component if you believe it will improve your presentation.
· A bibliography must accompany your presentation. The information you present must be in your own words. You will hand in a copy of your speech (with bibliography) when you present.
· You must always remember the rules regarding plagiarism and academic integrity.
