WINTER LEAGUE 2017/18
Format and Rules
FORMAT
Winter League this year will be played from Thursday - Monday
League will commence on Thursday 12th,Friday 13th, Saturday 14th,Sunday 15th & Monday 16thOctober 2017.
Each team will consist of a maximum of 10 players, 7 scores to count each week.
Entry fee is £20 per player must be paid on or before start date. Scores will not count for Team until entry fee is paid. PAYMENT TO BE COLLECTED BY TEAM CAPTAIN’S AND PAID THROUGHPRO SHOP or OFFICE.
Play will be over 9 holes, alternating weekly.
Front 9 holes 1st – 8th normal course + Temporary pitch hole with tee box below the side of the 12th green
Back 9 holes 9th – 16th normal course + 18th normal course (par 3 from mat at top of hill) ( omitting 17th )
Due to this format having 3 No par 3’s on the front nine and only 2 No Par 3’s on the back nine we arenominating the 4th as the only Par 3 hole not counting for two’s
The league will be played in two parts, each consisting of 10 weeks (Thursday 12thth October to Monday 18thDecember2017 and Thursday 4thJanuary 2018 to Monday 12thMarch 2018).
There will be 3 team prizes for each 10 week period and individual prizes for each 10 week section (subject to entries).
For the individual prizes 7 out of 10 cards will count (weather permitting).
Over the 20 week period there will be 1 team and a minimum of 3 individual prizes.
No team or individual will win more than 1 prize (except where an individual winner is also a team winner).

RULES
Weekly fee £2.00
Two’s £1.00
All competitors must alternate front and back nine each week, including non-winter league players (eg., 1st week front nine, 2nd week back nine, so every odd week 1-3-5 etc you will play the front nine, even if there are cancellations).We will allow one deviation from above in each phase
Failure to comply with the above may result in disqualification.
All cards must be completed correctly – player’s name, team name, both playing handicap and shots received, signed and dated.
Players will be permitted to play golf on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday and return a winter league score on Monday, (however if you take a card out on Thursday, Friday,Saturday or Sunday it must be returned on the same day).
If the course is open onThursday, Friday, Saturday but closed on Sunday or Monday then Sunday/Monday competitors will have until the following Wednesday to return a card.
If the course is closed onThursday/Friday,players can play on Sat, Sun or Mon if the course is open. If the course is closed on Saturday theWinter League weekend competition is cancelled.
Handicap reductions will be made on returns of 19 pts or better.
Winners of weekly prizes will be cut an additional 0.3 of a shot.
PLAYER REPLACEMENT
Before the start of the 2nd10 week period in January 2018,each team will have the opportunity to replace up to two players. The new player(s) must pay the £20 entry fee.
Replacement for injury or illness will be considered by the committee at any stage.
Transfers between teams are not permitted.
