DATA TECHNICIAN SPECIALIST

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

LOCATION: Northern Kentucky

REPORTS TO: Assistant Shelter Manager

The Women’s Crisis Center is seeking a Data Technician Specialist for our Northern Kentucky location. The Women’s Crisis Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse.

JOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Shelter Program Coordinator, maintains both physical and electronic files for client records and statistical information. Generates ad-hoc and regular (monthly, quarterly, annual) reports as needed for funding sources and management. Performs various duties in support of agency operation.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·  Performs variety of data processing

o  Search new intake for previous records

o  Enter new data and statistics daily

·  Maintain files

o  File new records

o  Close records and send to remote storage

o  Retrieve and maintain files as needed

·  Generate reports

o  Create and organize statistical reports used in grants, proposals, budget reports, and monthly/quarterly/yearly reports

o  Perform random audits of database, client files, and timesheets

·  Assist with Crisis Line coverage

QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, skills, etc.):

v  Knowledge and skills at a level typically acquired through completion of an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration and one to two years’ experience with PC database administration.

v  Skill in using PC equipment, Microsoft Word and Excel

v  Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain high level of confidentiality

v  Ability to work under highly stressful, crisis-oriented situations

v  Knowledge of abuse issues and dynamics involved

v  Completion of Kentucky Coalition Against Domestic Violence (KCADV) training

v  Ability to apply KCADV Member Service Standards and the Kentucky Association of Sexual Assault Programs rape crisis standards

MENTAL/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS WHICH OCCUR REGULARLY IN PERFORMING THE JOB:

Speaking, reading, writing, walking, including climbing steps, prolonged sitting, repetitive hand manipulation, using related office equipment such as PC keyboard, monitor, copier, calculator, phone, etc., bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting, exposure to potential workplace violence and infectious diseases.
