Annual Budgets for Planning and Enforcement Department

Thank you for your email of 11th December 2010, in which you requested information in relation to the annual financial budget for the Planning and Enforcement Department.

Please provide me with the annual financial budget for the following council departments for each of the financial years between 2004/05-2010/11:

1. Planning department

2. Planning enforcement

If planning enforcement is part of the planning department please specify the annual budget for the department's enforcement activities during the above period.

Please find attached a spreadsheet which gives a breakdown of the Planning budgets for each of the financial years between 2004/05 – 2010/11. The enforcement costs have separated into Backlog Enforcement Team (agency staff) funded by additional fundingand permanent enforcement staff within the Development Control General Fund.

In 2008/09, the £276k additional funding for the Backlog Enforcement Team (agency cost)was included in the General Fund budget, hence there is no entry for that year.
