SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES
A nonexempt position responsible for coordinating, verifying, distributing, and managing all services provided by the organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. While this is intended to be an accurate reflection of the current job, management reserves the right to revise the job or to require that other or different functions be performed when circumstances change or exigencies require (this includes but is not limited to emergencies, changes in personnel, workload, rush jobs, or technological developments).
1. Uses customer service principles and techniques to deal with patients calmly and pleasantly.
2. Schedules patient appointments.
3. Calls patients to verify appointments.
4. Assists patients with credit applications.
5. Assists in basic hearing aid cleaning and repair.
6. Prepare contracts and demo (loaner) forms for hearing aids.
7. Process/return hearing aids for repair or credit.
8. Daily cash/invoice tracking and handling.
9. Assists Controller in reconciling monthly cash and expenses associated with audiology program.
10. Maintain inventory and track purchase orders for supplies and equipment.
11. Performs insurance eligibility as necessary.
12. Completes demographic intake in EMR as necessary.
13. Document patient encounters and phone calls in EMR.
14. Coordinates 3rd party visits with vendors regarding hearing aids and inspections.
15. Greets patients and directs them appropriately.
16. Other duties as assigned.
1. SENTIAL DUTIEES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTSHigh school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
Certified as Audiology Assistant or obtain certification within one (1) year of employment.
EXPERIENCE/OTHER REQUIREMENTSMinimum one year clerical/billing experience in a health care organization.registered medical assistant
KNOWLEDGE1. Knowledge of clinic policies and procedures and overall understanding of medical office flow.
2. Knowledge of coding and clinic operating policies.
SKILLS1. Proficient skills in computer programs.
2. Skill in using a calculator.
3. Skill in tact and diplomacy in interpersonal interactions.
Abilities:
1. Ability to communicate effectively and work with others
2. Ability to communicate calmly and clearly with patients.
3. Ability to understand and interpret policies and regulations.
4. Ability to read and interpret medical charts.
5. Ability to examine documents for accuracy and completeness.
6. Operate standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copies, printers, telephones, calculators, etc.

Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal office environment. Manual dexterity using a calculator.
