Now that you have been appointed Captain of your current Golf Club, you may be interested in becoming a member of the Devon Golf Captains and, in anticipation of your interest, below is a brief resume of their activities.
Two golf meetings are held each year, the President’s Day in May and the Captain’s Day in September. These are run mainly as individual competitions for long established
trophies and followed by a dinner, either at the host Club or, if the numbers are too great for the Clubhouse facilities, at a nearby Hotel.
We also have annual matches against the Captains of 12 other counties, with our Captain selecting his team from a list of Captains who have previously indicated they wish to be considered for selection.
Life membership of the Devon Golf Captains, inclusive of a Captains tie, is £ 30.00 and
if you do wish to become a member, please forward your cheque, made out to ‘Devon
Golf Captains’ and include your present address and telephone number/e-mail address

1. Designation.
The name of the Club shall be ‘DEVON GOLF CAPTAINS’
2. Membership.
Membership is open to all Captains, past and present, of the Devon
County Golf Union and of all Clubs affiliated with the Devon County Golf Union.
The Club shall have the power to elect Honorary Members but the concurrence of
two thirds of the Members present at a General Meeting is necessary.
