Purpose of Assignment: In order to introduce students to the complex nature of a rhetorical analysis essay, the students worked on this first one in a group. Students read two letters: one from a Coca-Cola executive asking a Grove Press representative to stop using the line “it’s the real thing” in an advertising campaign for a new book, and the second letter was the humorous response of the executive. The task asked students to analyze how the rhetorical strategies in the letters supported the arguments and to evaluate which letter was the more persuasive.

Please proofread, revise, and check for clarity and correctness. Focus on looking over the instructor’s comments and your own evaluation of your work. What SPECIFICLY will you fix for the next assignment, and HOW will you do this?
