JOB DESCRIPTION /
POST: / CATERING ASSISTANT
RESPONSIBLE TO: / Catering Manager
RESPONSIBLE FOR: / Maintaining a high quality catering service to all clients/customers
MAIN DUTIES
  1. To provide counter service to include the sales of food and beverages and re-stocking counter display.
  1. To have a good knowledge of menu and prices.
  1. To check deliveries, ensuring the correct storage, stock rotation and distribution to sales and production areas.
  1. To ensure equipment and work areas are kept clean and tidy at all times.
  1. Table clearing, disposal of rubbish and sweeping restaurant areas to maintain standards of cleanliness.
  1. Use of cash register to record transactions during service times, following cash handling procedures.
  1. Pot washing and use of dishwasher, checking cleanliness of all equipment.
  1. Basic food production and cooking.
  1. Re-stocking and cleaning vending machines.
  1. Daily/weekly cleaning of kitchen equipment and surrounding areas.
  1. Daily cleaning in Kitchen, Prep and store areas to include sweeping and mopping floors.
  1. To provide hospitality, this will include preparation of food and drinks, setting up rooms, service and clearing.
  1. To assist with general administration, placing orders, recording daily income figures and stocktaking.
  1. To carry out daily temperature checks on deliveries, prepared food, fridges and freezers, recording information in accordance with Food Safety Standards.
  1. To carry out duties in accordance with the relevant legislation;
