Examinations Officer and Administrative Assistant

Full-time, 36 hours per week Monday-Friday

We are seekingto appoint an Examinations Officer and Administrative Assistant to join our teamat our prestigious independent school in Bath.

The primary role of the post holder will be to take responsibility for the effective administration, organisation and management of all internal and external examinations, including all related issues. In addition to managing examinations, the role involves a range of day-to-day administrative duties.

The role is offered as a full-time and all year round post.

Responsibilities include:

  • To process all external examination entries ensuring that candidates are registered with the appropriate examination boards;
  • To receive and issue GCSE and A level results in August when attendance is required and deal with enquires and remarks;
  • To understand and adhere to JCQ regulations – Instructions for Conducting Examinations, Access Arrangements, Reasonable Adjustments and Special Consideration and General Regulations and to make staff aware of any regulations where necessary;
  • To prepare timetabling and rooming for examinations and make arrangements for all examination clashesin accordance with guidelines set down by the relevant examination board;
  • To make all the necessary arrangements for internal examinations for Years 10-11 including the construction of examination and invigilation timetables;
  • To provide administrative support to teaching staff and members of SLT
  • To assist the Senior Teacher in checking the provision of cover each day and then providing, where necessary, cover for missing tutors and teachers; also, ensuring cover is sorted out on days the Senior Teacher is absent.
  • To support the Head of Sixth Form/Head of HE in the smooth running of the UCAS process

The successful candidate will be a highly organised individual with a good standard of administration skills and experience, they will have the ability to work to tight deadlines whilst maintaining a high level of attention to detail.Experience of Examinations Admin work within an educational setting is highly desirable.
