Salary: £23,875. + 5% pension and 25 days of annual leave

Hours: Full time

Job Purpose:

Ensuring smooth running of the School for Social Entrepreneurs (SSE) learning programmes and other services run by the London School

  • Providing administrative support to colleagues around the SSE Network (regional and international schools)
  • Managing the relationship with SSE Fellows (nationwide alumni), building it into a thriving and active network
  • Managing and coordinating SSE events
Current services to students
  1. Working closely with Directors of Learning, ensuring the smooth running of the SSE learning Programmes and other learning activities, including liaising with speakers, organising materials, timetables, room bookings and feedback forms
  2. Designing schedules of dates for the SSE programmes
  3. Working on recruitment of students for the SSE learning programme, publicising the programme widely and administering the recruitment process
  4. Creating students’ extranet profiles and ensuring these are updated regularly
  5. Supporting students, including having responsibility for maintenance of student records
  6. Being the first point of call for any students and fellows enquiries
  7. Managing the relationship with students by keeping in touch, responding to queries, updating them on upcoming sessions/events
  8. Ensuring the programme meets SSE quality standards and preparing and leading on the annual audit.

Fellowship (SSE Alumni)

  1. In conjunction with other staff, developing the national network of SSE’s fellowship services including researching and negotiating deals + promotions and building the relationship between SSE and fellows.
  2. Co-ordinating and project managing Fellowship services & projects: i.e. seminars and Action Learning Sets (small group learning activity).
  3. Ensuring Fellows contacts database is up to date.
  4. Developing new Fellowship services, Monitoring and evaluating work done with the Fellowship community

Events

1. Organising and managing events for the London School as well as the Fellowship (i.e. launch events, graduations, residential, local/regional/national events) with the support of the Office Administrator.

Experience (voluntary or paid)

  • Experience of working independently and using own initiative
  • Experience of working in office environment
  • Experience of working with public and/or community organisations
  • Customer/community relations - desirable
  • Event organising - desirable
  • Working knowledge of online media and social networking - desirable

Knowledge

  • An understanding of processes for ensuring and monitoring quality
  • Interest in voluntary organisations, social enterprises etc and issues affecting the sector
  • Some understanding of the needs of individuals setting up new projects /organisations
