Dear Parents/Guardians of Sec 3 students

DIALOGUE SESSION WITH SCHOOL LEADERS & TEACHERS FOR SEC 3 STUDENTS @ MPH,

Saturday 12 July 2014 8.30am – 9.30am, followed by

PARENTING TALK : CYBERWELLNESS-CYBERBULLYING & RELATIONSHIP IN THE INTERNET 9.45am – 12.45pm

Our Sec 3 students completed their Overseas Values In Action Camp to China and Cambodia in early June except for Sec 3T1 students who will be going in November. Students who were unable to go for the overseas trips participated in the local VIA at the Clementi CC on 29th and 30th May.

These VIA experiences have been very meaningful for the students who learnt valuable lessons in responsibility, respect and teamwork and most importantly, the appreciation of the learning opportunities and support provided by the school. These VIA experiences are one of the many platforms provided by the school as part of its student-centric and holistic education.

Whilst the school is committed in providing the necessary support and resources for the holistic development of your child/ward, your guidance and monitoring at home is just as important.

We would like to invite you for a Dialogue Session with the school leaders and teachers to share with you how both the school and parents can collaborate to better guide your child/ward to achieve their goals. There will also be time given for you to interact with the teachers and Heads of Department to address your concerns about your child/ward.

Following the Dialogue Session is the Parenting Talk : Cyberwellness-Cyberbullying and Relationship in the Internet, organised by the Juying Parents Support Group (JPSG) and Families for Tomorrow Services. With the easy access to technology and the advancement of the social media, most of the youths are now spending more time online. And very often than not, parents do not know what is going on out there in the cyber world.

The aim of cyberwellness is to create a balanced and healthy life-style for the next generation. We hope that through this session, you will be able to gain a better understanding of the cyber world and how to better guide your child/ward in leading a balanced life in this modern and advanced world.

To facilitate our arrangements, please fill in the attached response slip. Please return it through your child/ward for submission to the Form Teacher by Tuesday, 08 July 2014. A nil return is required. If you have any queries, please feel free to contact the Form Teacher. With regard to any query for the workshop, please contact Miss Cecil, our Family Matters at School Coordinator, at 90141604. Light refreshment will be served at 9.30 a.m at the iStudio prior to the workshop.
