DEVELOPMENT SQUAD
Development Squad 2016/17
Mavericks are now inviting players to trial for Mavericks Development Squad. This Development Squad is intended to give young players the opportunity to have additional training sessions and is not intended to replace player involvement in school/club/satellite/county academy training.
This year we will have two Development Squads which will be age banded. For School Years 910 players (born between 01/09/2001 and 31/08/2003), and for School Years 78 (born between 01/09/2003 and 31/08/2005)who are currently playing for their School, Club, County Satellite or County Academy. Players CANNOT trial if they are already selected for a Regional Academy or Regional Performance Academy.
Years 7 & 8
Selection will be held on Sunday 11September, 2016, at Stanborough School, Lemsford Lane, Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire. AL86YR, 9.30am-4pm, Registration at 9am. Training will start on Weds 21st September 2016 and be held every third Weds, at Oaklands College, St Albans Campus, Hatfield Road, St Albans, Herts, AL4 0JA, 6.30-8.30pm.
Years 9 & 10
Selection will be held on Sunday 11 September 2016, at Stanborough School, Lemsford Lane, Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, AL86YR, 9.30am-4pm, registration at 9am. Training will start on Weds 28 September 2016 and be held every third Weds, at Oaklands College, St Albans Campus, Hatfield Road, St Albans, Herts, AL4 0JA, 6.30-8.30pm.
The Selection day will include being coached during the day.
You can apply to trial by completing the attached trial form if you meet one of the following criteria:
Players within the East Region
You play for your school, club, satellite or county academy and can get the recommendation from your teacher or coach.
Players outside the East Region
You play for your school, club, satellite or county academy and can get the recommendation from your teacher or coach.

- Years 9 & 10 - 11 September 2016, 9am-4.00pm at Stanborough School ,Lemsford Lane, Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, AL86YR - registration at 9am
Attend coaching sessions as advised, including when injured/ill (if reasonable).
Arrange own transport to and from training sessions
To be affiliated to England Netball through a Club, train and compete at an appropriate level
Pay a trial fee of £20.00 sent with your application
If selected an annual subscription payment of £100 will be required. This can be paid in full or in two installments of £50 on 1 October 2016 and £50 on 10January 2017 via a cheque made payable to “Mavericks Netball Ltd” or by bank transfer, to Sort Code 09-01-28, A/C Number 01724256, A/C Name: Mavericks Netball Ltd.
