Dear Colleagues

The Catholic Leadership Programme (CLP) 2018

We are currently recruiting delegates for the Catholic Leadership Programme which will run from January to December 2018.

The CLP is now in its thirteenth year and continues to be both successful and, more importantly, of great value to Catholic Schools and Colleges in the North West of England.

The CLP is offered as part of the diocesan contribution towards the North WestCatholic Dioceses Training Partnership (NWCDTP), which includes the Dioceses of Lancaster, Shrewsbury, Wrexham, Salford and the Archdiocese of Liverpool.There are 73 delegates on the 2017 programme and we are hoping for similar numbers in 2018.

I am attaching a copy of the CLP brochure for 2018 and I would urge you to read the details carefully and note that we have specifically tried to fix the calendar and timings to ensure minimum disruption to schools. We invite you to put forward for the programmethe names of colleagues who may fall into the following categories:

Headteachers, Deputy and Assistant Headteachers;
Strong middle leaders likely to aspire to senior leadership;
Business Managers, Bursars or Site Managers who are part of the Senior Leadership Team.

The programme is endorsed by and has the patronage of the North West Bishops and Diocesan Directors of Education. Completion of the programme is figuring more and more in the selection process by governors when appointing to senior leader posts, including headship. This is because the CLP continues to be recognised as a model for formation for Catholic School leadership across the UK.

Not only is it excellent preparation for headship of a Catholic school or college, it provides a solid foundation for all senior leaders at all levels as well as those who aspire to senior leadership.
