Biomes Project

DAY 1: Research and Poster

Biome Information Sheet

Group Member Names:
Name of Biome:
Where on earth is your biome found?
Does your biome have any special seasons or yearly cycles?
Temperature range of biome (°C):
Amount of annual precipitation (m):
On an expedition to this biome, what plants would you expect to see? Do they have any special adaptations?
What animals would you expect to see? Do they have any special adaptations?
What information would you want to share with the class about your biome? Mention any interesting facts or details about your biome.
What questions do you still have regarding your biome?

Poster

Each group must create a poster that shows their understanding of their chosen biome. The poster must include:

  • Biome name
  • A description and diagram of where the biome can be found
  • Temperature expressed in a graph
  • Precipitation expressed in a graph
  • A list of no less than 10 animals and any characteristic adaptations that enables them to survive in the biome
  • A list of no less than 5 plants and any characteristic adaptations that enables them to survive in the biome
  • A food web characterizing the relationship between producers and consumers in the biome
  • An extra picture of the biome

Day 2: Poster

After creating the poster, each group will be expected to share their research and findings to the class. Each team will be given 5 minutes to present their posters; all team members must present at least one part of their biome. At least 20 minutes will be given to each group to finish up their poster and go over their presentations at the beginning of presentation day.

During each presentation, all students must complete a table, organizing the information that is presented by each group.
