HAMELIN

(Coon, van Hilst, Henrickson)

We like our town of Hamelin. Wouldn't you agree?

The rolling hills and valleys make perfect scenery.

The air is quite refreshing; the weather is sublime.

A nicer place for living you'll likely never find.

We like our town of Hamelin. Isn't it the best?

Our children are the brightest, get A's on every test.

And when it comes to music, boy, you should hear them sing.

They're good at sports and English. They're good at everything.

(All)

Hamelin, we all love Hamelin.

Yes, it's a great community.

Hamelin, our town of Hamelin;

And there's no finer place-- to be---.

(Rayer, Taylor)
We like this town of Hamelin; it really fits our needs.

There's lots of food, it's everywhere, and great big chunks of cheese.

The people here are not too bright, in fact, they're rather dull.

So Hamelin is the place to be---, where we can have it all.

Part 1(Coon, van Hilst, Henrickson)Part 2(Taylor, Rayer)

Hamelin…..There’s food galore

We all love Hamelin.…..Who could ask for more?

Yes it’s a great community…..You’d better believe it

Hamelin……A snack each night!

Our town of Hamelin….Gourmet’s delight

And there’s no finer place---No finer place----

RATS!

Rats! What a mess! We confess. This is something we would rather do without.

Rats! Look around, they're everywhere. It's enough to make a quiet person shout.

Rats! Once this was a peaceful village with our children and their little dogs and cats.

Then along came these creatures with their sneaky little features.

Now our town is overrun with rats!

What a mess! What a terrible dilemma! What an awful situation we are in!

We detest all the chaos in our living and we've had it up to here.

We won't give in to those rats!

All their squeaking and their nibbling, and their running overhead and under foot.

Rats! Can't control them, won't condone them; little thieves,

they run around with bags of loot.

Rats! Beady eyes with whiskers twitching and their noses always sniffing this and that.

Not a cuddly little fellow, like a puppy or a pillow. It's a nuisance, it's a rodent, it's a Rat!

They’ve Got a Rodent Problem

{Mayor and Town Council- Aidan (H),Landon (T), Grace (VH), Carly (T), Laraib (C), Trinity (R),Aaron (T)}

Rayer and Taylor:

They’ve got a rodent problem. It’s something they must discuss.

It’s come to their attention. And created quite a fuss.

All of their friends and neighbors are ready to scream and shout.

And if they don’t’ do something, they’ll throw the council out!

Henrickson, Coon, & van Hilst:

What’s with the rats? What’s with the rats? What are they doing here?
If you don’t make them relocate, your jobs will disappear.

Rayer and Taylor:

They need a plan that’s simple; simple and yet direct.

Something to send us packing; something we won’t suspect.

Henrickson, Coon, & van Hilst:

What’s with the rats? What’s with the rats? What are they doing here?
If you don’t make them relocate, your jobs will disappear.

Mayor and Council: What’ll we do then?
All: Your jobs will disappear.

Mayor and Council: Unemployment!
All: Your jobs will disappear! Poof!

Ain’t It Great to Be a Rat?

Ain’t it great to be a rat? Ain’t it great to be the big cheese? ‘Cause a rat is where it’s at.

We can do just as we please. We are cunning and conniving.

We’re sneaky and we’re sly.

We’ll pull a heist in broad daylight, right before your eyes.

Ain’t it great to be a rat? Ain’t it great to be the big cheese?

‘Cause a rat is where it’s at.

We can do just as we please.

Rat Group 1Ismael (R)Andy (H): So this guy comes up to me and says, “Are you a man or a mouse?” I say, “Neither. I’m a rat!”

All: Ain’t it great to be a rat?

Rat Group 2Saxon (T)Baylor (T): So I hear they’ve got you on the treadmill.

Rat Group 3Michael (T)Micah (T): Yeah, it’s a real rat race.

All: Ain’t it great to be the big cheese?

Rat Group 4Ariana (VH)Charlotte (VH): Boy, you look filthy!
Rat Group 5Annabella (C)Quinn (C): Well, I haven’t had a bath in a month.

Rat Group 4Ariana (VH)Charlotte (VH): You dirty rat.

All: ‘Cause a rat is where it’s at.

Rat Group 2Saxon (T)Baylor (T): Hey, what university did you graduate from?
Rat Group 1Ismael (R)Andy (H): Ratcliff.

All: We can do just as we please. We are cunning and conniving. We’re sneaky and we’re sly.

We’ll pull a heist in the broad daylight, right before your eyes.

Rat Group 3Michael (T)Micah (T): So who’s your favorite movie star?

Rat Group 4Ariana (VH)Charlotte (VH): Robert Ratford.

Rat #1Kian (R): Stop all these rat jokes! I can’t take it!
Rat Groups: Aww..rats!
Rat #1Kian (R): Arrghh…

All: Ain’t it great to be a rat? Ain’t it great to be the big cheese? ‘Cause a rat is where it’s at. We can do just as we please.

Rat #1Kian (R): Nice hairdo.

Rat Group 5Annabella (C)Quinn (C): Thanks, I ratted it.

(Rat #1Kian) screams and falls to the floor.)

Enchanted Rats

Narrator Group 4Samantha (T)Mariposa (R)Andres (R)Savir (?): The town awakened the next morning to the haunting sound of a flute.

Narrator Group 5Sanvi (C)Kyla (C): Its melody was something the people had never heard before, and as they opened their shutters to look out, they saw a most unusual sight.

Narrator Group 4Samantha (T)Mariposa (R)Andres (R): There, walking and, at times, skipping was the Pied Piper playing her flute.

Narrator Group 5Sanvi (C)Kyla (C): But what was more astonishing was that behind her came all the rats of the town. (Rats follow.)

All: Ain’t it great to be a rat? ‘Cause a rat is where it’s at.

Piper: Great show, huh? Better than “Cats!” (Rats look around in terror, squeal and cling to each other.)

All: Ain’t it great to be a rat? ‘Cause a rat is where it’s at.

NO MORE RATS!

{Mayor and Town Council- Aidan (H),Landon (T), Grace (VH), Carly (T), Laraib (C), Trinity (R),Aaron (T)}

No more rats! We'll give a cheer in celebration.

No more rats! You've pulled it off again.

No more rats! They scampered off behind that piper.

No more rats! We've seen the last of them.

We thought you were magnificent when things were looking grey.

You acted without precedent and boldly led the way.

No more rats! As citizens, we all adore you_.

No more rats! You're the heroes of the day.

Mayor and Council:We really can't take all the credit.

To some others we’re indebted.

So we bow to you___ and you____.Together we came through__ with

Come away and join the fun: Play "Hide and Seek" with me.

Count to ten, now let's begin. Go hide where I can't see.

Over there behind the wall or underneath the tree.

When You Give Your Word

When you give your word, and make a promise,

That's the seal of a sacred trust.

And it matters not, whatever the cost,

But keep your word you must.

If you're fair, taking care to do what you say you'll do,

Then wherever you go, all will know

That the words that you speak are true.

If you keep your word, then day by day,

You can walk with your head held high.

And the wide world over, whoever you meet,

You'll look them straight in the eye.

Then inside you'll feel pride that never is bought or sold.

Far and wide your name will gain the fame

That your word is as good as gold.

Far and wide your name will gain the fame

That your word is as good as gold.
