PURPOSE OF JOB
The role of Program manager is to drive best practices through the implementation of Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) project management methodologies, governances, methods, and tools. The Program Manager is a key role in enabling ISS to successfully lead change, increase organizational capability and ultimately deliver on the ISS department’s commitments to its clients and stakeholders. This position is responsible for managing a number of non-related contracts dedicated to the successful delivery of projects/programs across the ISS department.In addition to managing portfolio level activities such as assessing dependencies/conflicts and generating metrics/dashboards, the Program Manager will also develop strong collaborative relationships with key customers and stakeholders within the organization to ensure successful execution and delivery of strategic initiatives.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
-Manage contract negotiation, the contract execution and CVO’s.
-Project planning and reporting in PSNext/SciForma.
-Proposal generation under the leadership of the program manager.
-Budgeting and planning for the contract and ensuring profitability of proposed budgets and plans.
-Manage the execution of multiple contracts/projects in multi-disciplinary environment.
-Manage and co-ordinate the contracts placed on sub-contractors itv Budget, Schedule, Scope, Quality, Resources and Risk
-Liaison with clients and give monthly reports on progress
-Program and Contract management reviews.
-Manage high-level system performance with regard to customer expectation.
-Participate in the selection of sub-contractors.
-Liaise with sub-contractors.
-Monitoring evaluation progress reports and milestone conformance reports.
-Deliver hardware and milestone outputs in accordance with contractual milestones.
-Evaluating deviations from plan.
-Managing customer requirement changes.
-Risk management.
CRITICAL SKILLS
-Relevant Project and Contract Management experience essential
-Defence sector experience advantageous
-Sound knowledge of Project Management tools and processes, Change Management, Configurations Management, QA processes
-Exposure to QMuzik would be advantageous
-Experience in the development, integration and testing of complex systems. (MUST have completed at least one development cycle.)
-Support planning and preparation of proposals essential.
-Capable of interacting with both internal facilities and external clients and Sub contractors.
-Experience in negotiating both internally and externally to the organization
JOB REQUIREMENTS
-A relevant B Eng or equivalent technical qualification
-10 years proven track-record on multiple projects and large, high-complexity projects.
-Relevant Project Management Qualification (PMP, PgMP, Prince4 or APPM diploma)
