CRASH- On December 15, 2015 at 10:22 pm a vehicle traveling northbound in the 100 Blk. of N. 4th Street, Denver Borough, crossed over both lanes of travel and struck 3 parked cars. The driver, who stated he became distracted by his GPS, was cited. No injuries were reported, but two of the vehicles had to be towed from the scene.

PUBLIC SERVICE- On December 16, 2015 at 2:24 pm officers were dispatched to the 1st Blk. of Denise Lane in East Cocalico Township for a small child locked in a vehicle. The responding officers were able to safely free the child from the vehicle.

BURGLARY- On December 18, 2015 at 0039 Hrs. officers were dispatched to the 100 Blk. of Muddy Creek Church Road in East Cocalico Township for 2 suspicious people behind the Grace Chapel Church. When the officers arrived, they witnessed Gwendolyn Eckert, 35, of Lancaster, PA attempting to pry open a window. Eckert and her 17 year old son were arrested and charged with Burglary and other offenses. Eckert failed to post bail and was remanded to the Lancaster County Prison. The male Juvenile was remanded to the Lancaster Youth Intervention Center.

FRAUD- On December 18, 2015 at 8:00 am officers were dispatched to the Sunoco Mini Market located at 185 East Main Street Reinholds, PA in West Cocalico Township for a female passing counterfeit money. Kelly Bucks, 35, of Robesonia, PA was charged with Forgery and Theft after it was discovered she passed $120 in counterfeit bills over a period of 3 days. She was arraigned and released on unsecured bail.

CRASH- On December 19, 2015 at 2:39am a vehicle traveling northbound in the 1400 Blk. of N. Reading Road in East Cocalico Township swerved across the opposite lane of travel and struck a concrete island in front of a business. The driver was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

SCAM- On December 19, 2015 several residents in East Cocalico Township and Denver Borough reported receiving phone calls regarding their credit and debit card accounts. The caller asked for the individuals’ private information. None of the complainants gave any information and the calls were terminated. Residents are reminded not to give anyone information including bank account information and social security numbers to anyone over the phone.

ORDINANCE VIOLATION- On December 20, 2015 at 6:59 pm, officers responded to the 1st Blk. of North Reamstown Road in East Cocalico Township to assist the Reamstown Fire Company. It was discovered that a family at that location was moving and burning items they didn’t want to take with them. The fire was extinguished and the homeowner was given a warning by the Fire Department.
