CPYHA TOURNAMENT REMINDERS

CPYHA BY-LAWS Section 13.5

The Tournament Director and volunteers from the CPYHA membership shall consist of the Tournament Committee. The Tournament Director shall chair the committee and be responsible to/for:

1. Present all recommendations as determined by the Tournament Committee to the CPYHA Board of Directors.

2. Advertise all CPYHA Tournaments to other hockey associations via direct mailing and notices placed in “Let’s Play Hockey” magazine or equivalent ice hockey-related publications.

3. Along with the Ice Director, assign ice hours for all CPYHA Tournaments.

4. Coordinate all CPYHA Tournament requirements, including referees, medical coverage, trophies and patches, sanctioning fees, etc.

5. Along with the respective directors and coaches, select the participating teams in CPYHA Tournaments and shall advise such teams of acceptance or rejection to the tournaments.

6. Pre-register, at a minimum, three (3) tournaments (one out-of-town and two in-town tournaments) for each traveling team and coordinate prepayment with the CPYHA Treasurer and repayment by selected traveling teams. All Squirt Traveling and Girls’ U10 Teams will be limited to three tournaments. *

7. Coordinate and plan the participation of CPYHA members in all District, Regional and State Tournaments, as assigned by District 10 and/or Minnesota Hockey.

*The tournament director and committee – will assist in securing hotels for the out-of-town tournaments. Often times these hotels require signed contacts and deposits. Any changes to pre-arranged hotels should be discussed with the tournament director.

CPYHA Traveling Committee By-laws

  • PeeWee/12U or Bantam/14U teams shall not exceed forty-five (45) gamesand scrimmages in one season, excluding tournaments.
  • Squirt/10U teams shallnot exceed thirty-five (35) games. This includes scrimmages, tournaments, anddistrict games in the Minnesota Hockey defined hockey season (including seasonending district playoff tournaments).
  • Any additional tournaments must beapproved by two thirds (2/3) majority of all parents (one vote per player) on theteam and petitioned to the Traveling Committee for approval, before anyadditional tournaments are scheduled.
  • Any request to cancel a scheduledtournament must be approved by two thirds (2/3) open ballot majority of allparents on the team (one vote per player) and petitioned to the TravelingCommittee for approval prior to cancellation. Substitute tournaments shall bediscussed with the Tournament Committee and approved by the Traveling Committee. For purposes of this By-law “additional” shall mean in addition topreviously scheduled tournaments and “substitute” shall mean in place of apreviously scheduled tournament.
