FEES:The fee at John Tyler Community College for each examination is $85 to CollegeBoard CLEP.CLEP test-takers will need to sign up for CLEP exams on clep.collegeboard.org prior to scheduling a testing date at the Testing Center. Using MyAccount on the CollegeBoard website, CLEP takers will be issued a registration ticket to confirm their CLEP exam purchase, and are required to contact the test center to schedule an appointment to take an exam. You will be required to have a registration ticket with you on the day of testing. If test-takers would like to take an exam that is different from the one indicated on the registration ticket, they must change the exam title in My Account before the exam is administered. Once the change has been made via My Account, test-takers must print out their new registration tickets. Please see page 2 of this document for details on CLEP Exam Fees.

CLEP EXAM FEES
All candidates pay their CLEP exam fees via My Account during the online registration process. Exam fees are not payable at the Testing Center.
Registering via My Account
My Account is a self-serve feature that enables candidates to create and manage their own personal accounts, register/prepay for CLEP exams, and purchase study materials all in one place.
All candidates (with the exception of certain test-takers with disabilities) must register and pay their exam fee via My Account at Candidates will select score recipients and answer background questions through My Account before test day. Test centers do not create registrations or collect payment for exam fees.
Once you have registered your CLEP exam on My Account, you will receive an automated email confirming your registration and alerting you to print the registration ticket along with other pre/post-test day reminders. A CLEP registration is valid for six months; the expiration date will be printed on the ticket.
How to Schedule your Appointment after Registering on My Account
Appointment scheduling is handled by each individual test center, not via My Account. During the exam registration process, candidates will indicate their preferred test center. Selecting a preferred test center does not reserve a space or guarantee students an appointment at the test center. My Account has no information regarding seating capacities or testing schedules at test centers. Therefore, candidates must contact the JTCC Testing Center at and complete a CLEP test application in order to schedule and appointment. CLEP exam applications must be received no later than one week prior to the arranged testing date.
Please review/print your CLEP exam Registration Ticket prior to the day of testing and bring it with you to the Testing Center. Your Registration Ticket acts as a voucher for payment and you will not be allowed to test without it
Identification Requirements on Testing Day
Please remember to bring a form of ID for your CLEP examination appointment. A primary ID must be government-issued photo ID; the ID must include your name, signature, and a recognizable photograph.
Acceptable forms of primary identification are:
- Current passport with name, photograph, and signature
- Valid driver’s license with name, photograph, and signature
- State or Province ID issued by the motor vehicle agency with name, photograph, and signature
- National ID with name, photograph, and signature
- A tribal ID card
- A naturalization card or certificate of citizenship
