Randall Lamb Commissioning Group is seeking a Certified Commissioning Authority / Agent to join our Commissioning Team in San Diego, California. We are seeking to fill this position immediately as our project backlog has grown tremendously.

Randall Lamb celebrates 42 years of innovative, functional and sustainable engineering, continuing to serve clients who need responsible, dependable and cost-effective solutions. We have provided successful consulting and engineering services since 1974 from our first location in San Diego and expanded to San Francisco in 1986 to serve a growing client base throughout the West Coast. In 2010, Randall Lamb created its Commissioning Department. We provide Design and Construction Phase Building Systems Commissioning, Retro-Commissioning, Ongoing Commissioning, Electrical Commissioning, Building Envelope Commissioning and Air Barrier Testing.

Position Summary:

The Certified Commissioning Authority will be responsible for working independently with the project team to fulfill the scope of commissioning. The Commissioning Authority will serve as Randall Lamb’s commissioning authority during design and construction and will be required to perform the following duties/responsibilities:

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in design meetings
  • Perform commissioning design reviews
  • Create and submit commissioning plans
  • Effectively communicate with the project team members.
  • Lead and document commissioning meetings.
  • Record and distribute commissioning meeting minutes.
  • Create or adapt pre-functional testing sheets
  • Create functional performance testing sheets
  • Witness operational systems startup or testing
  • Verify equipment/device inspections and checklists
  • Perform basic HVAC testing tasks such as reading air and water flows with provided instrumentation
  • Witness, verify and document equipment or systems Functional Performance testing
  • Complete Final Commissioning Reports and System Manual
  • Compose project timeline, schedule, and material/equipment list
  • Responsible for personal and team safety
  • Identify and communicate additional work that is or is not requested, implied, or expected over and above the scope

Requirements:

  • Certified Commissioning Authority / Agent (ACG, NEBB, U of W, BCA, AEE)
  • Firm understanding of building automation systems for controlling HVAC Systems
  • High School Diploma
  • Ability to travel up to 20% (Typically less than 3 days)
  • Strong Report Writing Skills
  • Clean Background Check
  • Good Driving Record

Preferences:

  • 4 years of field operations experience in HVAC Commissioning, DDC Controls and/or Test, Adjust & Balance disciplines
  • Mechanical Engineering Degree
  • Mechanical P.E.
  • LEEP AP
