About the Organizer / China-Europe Vocational Training Centre (CEVTC) is located in Wuhan, the capital city of Hubei province in central China. It was founded in 2000 and implemented the extremely successful human resources development cooperation programme between the European Union and Chinese Government—EU-CHINA Programme for the Development of Vocational Training for Industry. Since its beginning this EU-China Programme has been successfully providing training for the Sino-EU joint venture companies all over China. CEVTC has been highly praised and was considered by EU Delegation in China as a flagship model of EU-China cooperation programmes. CEVTC embraces advanced training conceptions and methodologies and operates under the guideline of NEED-ORIENTED, TRAINEE-CENTRED, and TECHINQUE-BASED. The methods of small-class training, team interaction, case study, situational practicing, experience sharing are adopted, which are well received by the participants.
CEVTC is the human resources development centre of Hubei province in commercial talents as well as one of the organizers of the human resources development projects of aid to developing countries approved by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China (MOFCOM, Since 2006, CEVTC started to organize the serialseminars in the area of globalization and trade co-sponsored by the MOFCOM and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD, as well as International Trade Centre (ITC, ). Up to present, CEVTC has successfully organized more than thirty international seminars, such as the Seminar on Economic Globalization, the Seminar on Capacity Building in International Trade for Developing Countries, the Seminar on Economic Globalization and International Industry Transfer, the Seminar on Economic Globalization and China’s Manufacturing Industrial Development, the Seminar on South-South Cooperation and Economic Development in Africa, the Seminar on Trade Facilitation for Developing Countries and the Seminar on Cotton Processing, Textile and Trade for Developing Countries, etc. Nearly 1000 governmental officials from more than 100 developing countries in Asia, Africa, Latin America, Europe and Oceania participated in the training programme. They were all very satisfied with these seminars and gave very positive feedback. The serial seminars have made far-reaching impact, and welcomed by the participants from those countries.
Seminar Content / The Seminar on Economic Globalization and Industrial Transfer for Developing Countries is co-sponsored by the MOFCOM and the UNCTAD which includes both lectures and study tours.
Both UNCTAD experts and Chinese experts will give the lectures, which mainly cover the following topics: Opportunity, Development and Challenge in Globalization; Opportunity and Challenge for Developing Countries in the Background of Globalization; International Industrial Transfer; Emerging of New Economies; Economic Diversification and Industrial Development; Industrial Transfer and Regional Economy Development; Industrial Development and the Establishment of Industrial Parks; Global Value Chain and Industry Cluster Upgrading of Developing Countries; Effective Utilization of Resources and Sustainable Development; Sustainable Development of Environment and Green Economy; Enlightenment of China’s Reform and Opening for Developing Countries; International Industrial Transfer and China’s Industrial Development; China’s Positive Policies for Industry Development;China’s Successful Experience in Taking Industrial Transfer; Global Crisis and China’s Economic Transformation; China’s Economic Transformation and Industrial Restructuring;China’s Experience in FDI Utilization and Industry Development;China’s Processing Trade and Industry Upgrading; Going Global of Chinese Enterprises; China’s Industry and Efficient Utilization of Resources; Green Economy and Developing Countries.
During the seminar, we will organize the study tour to the coastal city Xiamen, the forerunner of China’s reform and opening up, and Shanghai, the most well developed cosmopolitan city in China to have exchanges with local governmental officials and entrepreneurs as well as visit local enterprises. In Xiamen, we will attend the China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT, )sponsored by the MOFCOM and cosponsored by the international organizations like UNCTAD, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), etc. to study their local industrial development and participate in relevant international forums and the matchmaking symposiums for outbound investment by Chinese enterprises, etc. Themed on "Bringing In" and "Going Global", CIFIT features a focus upon its local and international characteristics, upon investment negotiation and investment policy promotion, upon coordinated development of national and regional economy, and upon economic and trade exchanges across the Taiwan Strait. CIFIT is currently China's only international investment promotion event aimed at facilitating bilateral investment. It's also the largest global investment event approved by the Unionof International Fairs (UFI). Besides, in Shanghai, we will visit local industrial parks and enterprises to learn their experience in globalization and industrial development.
Through the seminar, participants will have a better understanding of the globalization and its opportunities and challenges and international industrial transfer as well as China’s experience in developing industry. Therefore, participants can make their contributions to the economic development of their own countries. It will also help to establish the links which will promote the friendship and further cooperation among these countries.
