Best Drill Company

Purpose: To establish guidelines for the Conduct of Brigade level competition.

Scope: These procedures are applicable to all units within the Cadet Corps.

Objectives: Designed to:

A: Establish Espirit-de-Corps.

B: Improve Company drill standards.

C: Foster healthy intra/inter-unit competition.

D: Exercise leadership skills by using the Chain of Command.

E: Provide recognition for outstanding company.

General: All line companies will compete in this competition. Band and HHD will not compete.

Procedure:

A: Company will be judged on appearance and Company level drill proficiency.

B: Company will report to the designed ready area for inspection prior to the start of the drill competition.

C: Upon completion of the inspection the Company Commander will be told to move his Company to the designated drill area and report to the head judge to begin the drill competition.

D. Once in the drill area the Company Commander will report to the head judge that his unit is present and prepared to conduct the drill competition. At the direction of the head judge the unit begins its competition.

E: Company Commander, alone and without any written or outside assistance are responsible for taking the Company through the series of movements outlined in the competition score sheets. Company Commander is responsible for memorizing and rehearsing the movements prior to the competition. If Company Commander is assisted in any way penalties or disqualifications actions will be taken.

F: The Company with the highest score will be selected the winner. In the event of a tie the Company that completes the maneuvers in the best time will be declared the winner.

Recognition:

A: One Company to be selected at the end of the SY during Company drill competition.

B: Maroon streamer to be placed on Company guidon. The streamer will remain on the guidon until the next Company drill competition.

C: All Company members receive best Drill Company Ribbon N-3-15.

D: Points awarded to the Company towards Company of the Year
