Baseball - GHS Baseball Booster – Meet the Eagles

The Baseball Booster Club would like to invite you to this year’s “Meet the Eagles” on February 22nd. Activities begin at 11:30 AM which include:

Washer Tournament (3 divisions), Baseball Card Game, Pre-ordered cooked briskets and pork butts. The day will end with a BBQ dinner, banquet and auction. Come for all or part, what a great way to meet your 2015 Georgetown Eagle Baseball Players.

Prizes will be awarded for events – see registration forms attached and provided on our website at for details!

Basketball – Girls

Congratulations to Coach Farney, her staff and the Lady Eagles with their 61-21 Bi-District Championship win last night over Cedar Creek. They will play in the Area Round either Thursday or Friday evening – TBD.

Cheerleading

GHS cheerleading/mascot try outs will be heldFriday, March 13th.There will be a mandatory parent and cheerleader/mascot candidate meeting heldon Thursday, February 19thandWednesday, February 25th, in the GHSlecture hallat 6:00 pm. Eagle Happenings

Come out to McNeil High School this Saturday February 21stto support the Georgettes as they compete in the first competition of the season. They are performing 4 officer routines, 4 team routines, and several solos, duets, and trios. The first dance is at 8 AM, with the last dance being performed at 6:15! Wish the Georgettes 'good luck' when you see them in the hallways!

GHS Hall of Honor

GHS Hall of Honor is now accepting nominations for outstanding Alumni of GHS and the former Carver High School.

The award is given annually to GHS/Carver graduates who are leaders in their field, or who have contributed greatly to the community. To be considered for the award, alumni must have graduated at least 10 years ago.

Nomination forms are attached or are available at the GHS Administration office.

Applications will be due by February 28, 2015. If you have questions please contact Cade Smith at 512-943-5100 ext. 5105

Graduation

Attention Seniors Senior Parents:

If your student has not received the packet concerning graduation orders and caps & gownsplease make sure they pick one up in the main office at the front desk. The graduating class of 2015 will be wearing a special custom embroidered cap & gown for graduation. Ordersfor these & graduation announcements will be taken on Wednesday February 25thfrom 11:00 – 2:00 in the cafeteria.

Project Graduation

Project Graduation fundraiser at Schlotzsky's , February 25th from 11am - 8pm. Come to Schlotzsky's and order any sandwich from their new expanded menu. For every sandwich sold, 50 cents goes toward Project Graduation. No flyers needed, just come with big appetites and help out our senior class.

Band

GHS Students, David Richards and Peter Smith, had a stellar weekend at the All-State Concert that took place at the TMEA Convention. David placed 1st Chair French Horn and Peter placed 2nd Chair Alto Clarinet in the State of Texas! Congratulations to these young men and our Band Directors!

Bowling

The Boys & Girls Varsity bowlingteams havequalified for the Regional tournament to be held in Georgetown at Mel's Lone Star Lanes on March 1st. Time TBD.

Golf – Boys

Lucas Garza and Taylor Kaye led the Eagle Golf Team to a fifth place finish in the Bastrop Golf Tournament played this past weekend. The Eagles were the top 5A team in the tournament.
Other members of the team were Lander Fagan,Corey Scully, and Owen Kinney.

Skills USA – Automotive

Congratulations to the Georgetown High Automotive Students.

The Automotive Technology Binders (All Students) received a perfect score and qualified for State.

Please congratulate the following students who participated in this weekend’s SkillsUSA District 10 Regional Competition. They received Gold in Criminal Justice Quiz Bowl and placed Gold and Silver in Felony Traffic Stop.

Congratulations to Coach Muck and the GHS Wrestling Team. This weekend, in Austin, they won the Regional Championship and are sending 10 wrestlers to the State Wrestling Meet in Garland, TX.
