Arts Week Own Learning

Next week, we will be celebrating Arts Week! We will be using the painting above to inspire lots of different pieces of art work. The painting is called The Castle of Muiden in Winter by Jan Beerstraaten. We would like you to use this as inspiration for your own learning this week.

Here are a few things you could do:

·  Research the artist and find out more about his work

·  Think about the people in the painting – who are they? Where have they come from? What are they doing? Create a story or mind map or anything else you would like to do to tell us about the characters

·  Use the castle as inspiration for a piece of art or writing

·  Adapt the painting in some way and recreate it again having changed something about it e.g. the season, the castle, the people, the scenery

·  Create a sculpture inspired by the painting

Remember these are just ideas. You can do anything that inspires you.

Please also remember that we would like you to do some reading, practise your spellings and your times tables throughout the week. There is also Mathletics and Bug Club for you to enjoy!

Good luck! We look forward to seeing your ideas on Friday 20th October.
