Carl AllenNeurath,Jr.Memorial Scholarship General Description:
Each year, the Neurathfamily awards a scholarship in memory of Carl Allen Neurath Jr. A rising senior and mechanical engineering student at Georgia Tech, Allen was in the co-op program at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation when he died in a car accident April 17, 2001. Allen worked very hard to become a "Yellow Jacket," and his family was extremely proud of him not only for his outstanding academic accomplishments but also for the type of young man Allen hadbecome. Whileheexcelledas a student, Allen also was very active in Tech's music program, various college community outreach programs and his church.
To honor Allen's memory, his family awards a $1,000 scholarship to an Effingham County High School senior who is accepted and who will attend the Georgia Institute of Technology. This senior must have highacademicachievements, must be active in and devoted to his or her community, and also must be involved in extracurricular activities andprograms.

Application for Carl Allen Neurath Georgia Tech Scholarship
Description: This scholarship is to be awarded to honor the memory of Carl Allen Neurath and will be awarded to a student graduating from Effingham County High School.
•The applicant must be a senior or a graduate of Effingham CountyHigh School.
•The applicant must be accepted to attend Georgia Tech. High school seniors MUST be committed to attend GeorgiaTech.
•Thescholarshipwillbea$1000onetimeaward.
•The scholarship will be awarded upon the basis of financial need, scholastic achievement, promise of success in college as reflected by the scores on the ScholasticAchievementTestoftheCollegeBoardandtherecommendations submitted with theapplication.
•This application must be accompanied by three letters of recommendation from persons not related to the applicant who are able to testify to the applicant's character, seriousness of purpose, and a need of financial aid. Two of these letters of recommendation must be from teachers oradministrators.
•The applicant must submit a copy of the high school transcript and SAT scores.
•The scholarship will be awarded during the Senior Class Night programeach
year.
