8th Grade Earth Science Textbook Policies

Dear Parents and Students:

The Earth Science Book will be used the entire year. The cost to replace a lost book is $72. Students should not leave their book in classrooms since the upkeep and whereabouts of the book is their responsibility. We expect students to take good care of school belongings and require that this textbook have a book cover. We recommend the old fashion paper bag covers as the ones you can purchase at the store do not fully cover the books. These books must remain in good shape for Livonia Public School students for many years to come. Students will receive a consequence if the book is not covered by the date assigned. Students will be assessed fines during the last full week of school. Fines will be given out for any type of damage to the book that was not there when they received it. The fines are listed below.

In order to not be charged for damage that occurred the previous school year, students and parents/guardians need to complete the attached sheet together and return it to the student’s science teacher. It must be signed by both parent/guardian and student.

We carefully assessed the science book for any previous damage and understand that we will be fined for any additional damage that occurs during the school year.
