OPHA is seeking an Executive Director who will work to advance the capacity for every

Oregonian to live in a safe and healthy place with access to the resources and information they need to actively participate in decisions that affect their wellbeing.

.5 FTE Executive Director, hours vary during the year

Location: Work from home and attend meetings in various locations

Compensation: $27.00 per hour with prorated holiday and Paid Time Off

Desired Start Date: On or before November 18, 2015.

Established in 1944 OPHA membership includes students, health educators, doctors, nurses, researchers, professors, community leaders, and citizens from all walks of life who share a commitment to public health in Oregon.Our membership includes individuals and organizations in regions across the state, providing OPHA with a strong combination of grassroots support and technical expertise. We succeed by bringing together the power of our members with community organizing, coalition building, public and professional education, and advocacy. Our Board is comprised of 26 active Directors who provide direction and support to the Executive Director.

Executive Director Position

The Executive Director is responsible for the successful leadership and management of OPHA in accordance with the strategic priorities and goals established by the Board of Directors. This position organizes and implements the daily operations of OPHA, including oversight of all programs within established guidelines. The Executive Director works under the supervision of the OPHA President with direction from the Executive Committee and in collaboration with OPHA committees, sections and staff.

What we are looking for?

Leadershipskills to work with the Board of Directors to develop and implement OPHA’s mission, vision and values and represent the Oregon Public Health Association in the community. Organizational Managementskills that support ongoing and future operations. Financial Management skills to assure the association is within budget, meets financial obligations and is managed consistently with standards of practice. Written, oral and technological communication skills that enhance the prestige and recognition of the organization. A Bachelor’s or Master'sdegree that supports the skills of the position, such as Non-Profit Management;Public Administration, Public Health, or related field, is desirable along with 2 or more years of experience relevant to the position.See attached Job Description.
