Aim of the lesson: To introduce classroom instructions and to teach the students to use them into the class.

OBJECTIVES

  1. By the end of the lesson, students will be able to give andrespond to simple instructions.
  2. By the end of the lesson, students will be able to act properly according to the command that the teacher gives them.

ACTIVITIES:

  1. The teacher greets the class firstly. Then, he/she get the students to play a game named hangman. The teacher chooses one student to be the executioner. That student will think of a word or short phrase a mark out blanks (short lines) for each letter of each word. The student separates words with either a slash, a fairly wide gap, or place words on separate lines. Then the other players will guess a letter. If that letter is in the word(s) then the executioner writes the letter in everywhere it would appear, a cross out that letter in the alphabet. If the letter isn't in the word then he/she adds a body part to the gallows (head, body, left arm, right arm, left leg, right leg). The players will continue guessing letters until they can either solve the word (or phrase) or all six body parts are on the gallows.
  2. The teacher wants the students to open the page 53 and tick (√) the correct pictures.

  1. The teacher wants the students to look page 52. Then, the teacher asks the students to look at the pictures and match them with the correct expressions.

  1. Students race to do the typical classroom action written on the board, e.g. “Open your book”, then the teacher adds one more to the bottom of the list, e.g. “Close your book”, and the students race to do both as quickly as possible when the teacher shouts “(Start) now” or “(Let’s) go”. The teacher adds one more to the bottom of the list and repeat over and over until they are doing at least 10 actions in a row.
