POSITION TITLE: /INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC TEACHER– High School
STARTING DATE: / 2008-2009 School YearOffers of employment will be contingent upon the applicant’s successful completion of a pre-employment physical examination, drug test, fingerprint clearance from the Department of Justice, and T.B. test clearance.
POSITION SUMMARY: / Serves as instrumental music instructor at the high school level. Teaches instrumental music(Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Ninth Grade Band, Jazz Band and Marching Band) to pupils at the high school level. Provides individual and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil. Plans, rehearses, and directs pupils in band and other instrumental performances. Encourages pupils to develop individual musical skills to the greatest extent possible.
QUALIFICATION GUIDE: / Required: Possession of a valid California teaching credential authorizing service as a teacher, in the above area(s), having the necessary background and experience; Possession of EL Authorization (CLAD or equivalent) Ability and willingness to perform coaching and/or cocurricular duties, if appropriate.
SALARY AND BENEFITS: / Placement on the teacher’s salary schedule according to experience and education: $41,528 - $89,098 plus district-paid major medical, prescription, vision and dental insurance for the employee and family, and $25,000 term-life insurance for the employee only.
GENERAL INFORMATION: / Yucaipa-CalimesaJointUnifiedSchool District is located approximately 20 miles from San Bernardino at the foothills of the San Bernardino Mountains. The district enrolls 10,000 pupils in grades K-12 in seven elementary schools, two middle schools, one 9th-grade only campus, one high school, one continuation high school, one alternative education center and a comprehensive adult education program. Personnel are encouraged to innovate and to be flexible.
