Year 4 Spelling Suggestions

Year 4 Spelling Suggestions

Year 4 Spelling Suggestions

These words are taken from a list of spelling patterns that Y4are learning during the Summer Term as part of our Spelling Programme.

The idea is that they look at the word, say it, cover it, write it and then check it. If there is a particular pattern they keep getting wrong then make a list of words with a similar pattern and get your child to keep practising those.

There is nothing wrong with doing short, quick spelling tests (of 10 words or so) particularly of words they are unsure of or are learning now. If they don’t know what a word means then get them to use a dictionary to look them up. The idea of the list is that you focus on one per week.
