Dear Parents,

Welcome to the Lower Dauphin School District! We look forward to welcoming you and your child into kindergarten next fall. Please find on the back of this letter relevant contact information for each elementary school in the district, as well as that for district-wide special education staff.

The transition process begins today with our orientation meeting. During December and January, Lower Dauphin staff will observe your child and review Early Intervention paperwork. We will meet with IU staff and you in February to discuss your child’s Early Intervention programming. Sometime in late spring we will meet to develop your child’s school age IEP.

The district kindergarten orientation meeting is January 30th at 6:45PM at the middle school. Kindergarten registration will take place in April or May (building specific information on the back on this letter) and information of class assignment and transportation will come to you in the beginning of August. Kindergarten open house will take place late in August.
