District News

Bus Drivers:

Anyone interested in driving the school bus for the district please contact the office. We are really running short handed. A person will have to take their CDL with passenger test. There is a certification school starting September 24, 2012 here at the school. See Burl Solie for details.

SchoolConnect:

This is a Smartphone App that allows teachers, students, parents and community members to stay informed about all the activities happening at our school. The following is the web link to get started:

This would be a great way to connect with students about class deadlines!!!

Accountability Designations:

High School Campus – No Designation; Last year – Priority (YEAH!)

Elementary 3-8– Focus; Last year – Focus. The elementary and middle school will have to notify parents of this status. The process for this status will be very similar to last year’s process of priority status. Once again, we need to focus on our students with IEP’s. Progress monitoring and remediation will be key targets to meeting the expectations for these students.

Westheimer Family Foundation Grant of $40,000 Approved:

If you are interested in applying for a possible coordinator position, please contact your campus administrator. This is a motivational cultural academy for all students in the district.

A-F Data Verification

Due to the large volume of Data Verification Requests submitted by districts that may have an impact on data used to calculate the School Status Designations, the Oklahoma State Department of Education will extend the deadline for submitting an appeal of the School Status Designations until 10 days after all data corrections have been made. The due date for Data Verification Requests has not changed. All Data Verification Requests must be received no later than 4:30 p.m. on September 27, 2012.Once all data corrections have been made, superintendents will be notified that the School Status Designations are final pending appeals and that the district will have 10 days to submit an appeal of the School Status Designation. Districts with Priority and Focus Schools will be required to notify parents of the option to participate in School Choice after final designations have been made and appeals have been heard. Districts with Priority, Targeted Intervention, and Focus Schools will receive an updated timeline of other due dates and training opportunities.
