I.  Call to Order

•The WES PTA Board meeting was called to order at 4:30 pm.

II.  Approval of Minutes

•The minutes from the May 2014 meeting were approved.

III.  Presidents Update

•Cheryl and Rosemary report that 8 more Smartboards are needed. The quote for the boards and installation from Mrs. Smith was $18,384. This does not include the electrical connection through a Wake County approved electrician. They will talk with the 5th grade teachers since the smartboards do not fit well in the trailers and the teachers seem to prefer document cameras which cost about $180.

•The Board voted and passed the motion to buy 8 Smartboards.

•Board meetings for the 2014-2015 school year will remain on the first Tuesday of the month at 4:30. The next board meeting will be July 8th.

•Rosemary and Cheryl will be going over the PTA calendar shortly.

IV.  Teacher’s Report

•Bright ideas will be starting at WES. This is similar to AIG but for the K-2 students. There will be a teacher training on this.

•Discovery Education, which is a science and social studies website, will have a training at the school. WES will be become the base for this in Wake County.

•TA’s will not be doing carpool in the mornings next year. Specialists will be used instead. It was discussed whether or not PTA could assist in getting volunteers to help with this however, it might be difficult to get people to commit.

•Ashley said that she would update the Staff Directory board in the lobby and will hopefully have it competed by the start of the new school year.

V.  Principal’s Report

•Ms. Privott was not in attendance.
