The Wachendorff company celebrates its 30th anniversary:

Total customer orientation provides the motor for continuous, healthy growth

On the 17thNovember 1978 RolfWachendorffregistered his business WachendorffProzesstechnik at the local Trade and Industry Office in Geisenheim. His reasoning was that electronic automation was destined to be the market of the future. Today the Wachendorff Group, which in 2007 employed 160 staff with a turnover of around 25 million Euro, comprises three companies: Wachendorff Prozesstechnik GmbH & Co. KG , Wachendorff Elektronik GmbH & Co. KG and Wachendorff Automation GmbH & Co. KG. The joint Managing Directors are Dr.PeterWachendorffand Dipl.Wirt.-Ing. RobertWachendorff.

The whole world of factory and machine automation

Wachendorff Prozesstechnik GmbH & Co. KG, the historic basis for all Wachendorff activities, imports high quality sophisticated industrial electronics from leading manufacturers for efficient factory and machine automation.

The product portfolio covers digital panel meters and counters, signal converters, large displays, temperature controllers, data loggers, operator panels, gateways and wireless solutions.

Alongside individual components WachendorffProzesstechnik offers complete system solutions, that are planned and implemented by local regional system integrators. This results in cost-effective solutions for more transparent automation, increased productivity, improved availability and informative condition monitoring. Major expansion of the product range aimed at the Industrial Ethernet sector is in progress. New CAN Profinet gateways and Ethernet routers from Wachendorff will already be on display at this year's SPS/IPC/Drives show.

Operator Panels for mobile machines, municipal vehicles and agricultural machinery

Wachendorff Elektronik GmbH & Co. KG,the largest business in the group, develops, manufactures and markets the Opus range of operator panels for mobile machines.

In 2008 the company has already launched ten new operator panels onto the market, including the Opus RVC, a Rugged Vehicle Computer with Intel Atom processor and four CAN ports based on either Windows or Linux.

As well as the comprehensive standard Opus range of products, WachendorffElektronik also develops operator panels that are specially tailored to the particular operating requirements of the user. Key concepts here include GPRS, Fleet Management, Precision Farming, Teleservice and CoDeSys as on-board control.

Wachendorff Elektronik's range of operator panels are highly innovative products; they are subject to on-going development with reference to both their hardware and their software, as new generations of processors and expanded customer requirements provide the impetus for new applications.

Encoders and Systems for Plant & Machinery, Lifts/Elevators

Wachendorff Automation, which was spun off in 2006 from WachendorffElektronik as a separate subsidiary company, has been developing, manufacturing and marketingshaft and hollow shaft rotary encoders since 1989.

The rugged design and the reliability of our encoders and systems is particularly appreciated by users. Henceforth Wachendorff Automation will be offering a 5 year written guarantee to emphasize the enduring quality of its products. Throughout the world over 750 solutions to specific customer needs have been provided using optical and magnetic Wachendorff encoders, often under the harshest environmental conditions. Wachendorff Automation offers intelligent solutions using encoders for all sectors of machine building, lifts, marking systems, wind power plants, solar technology and more.

At the SPS/IPC/Drives show Wachendorff Automation will be exhibiting a new product development in the field of encoders with a CAN interface.

Growth in all areas

This year Wachendorff Group's turnover has also seen double-digit growth. The economic situation is very healthy for all three companies: currently the Encoder division is growing at around 7 %, Process Technology at around 25 % and Operator Panels for mobile machines have seen an increase of 20 %. Wachendorff is well-positioned and looks forward to the challenges of the future.
