Chief Anderson visits Tucker Elementary School!
Chief Anderson received a warm welcome from Tucker students and staff as she arrived to read to Pre K students during “Read Aloud Month” on , October 31st . It was an exciting and enjoyable afternoon for Tucker. Isias Joe escorted the Chief as she greeted students and staff. The girl’s ensemble did a beautiful job singing a song adapted and directed by Diann Comby. The PreK students enjoyed the story she read to them and the surprise treats. Chief Anderson appreciated the fresh flower arrangement and the 5th grade student’s handmade flowers she received.
Mrs. Clearman’s 6th and 7th grade social studies classes and Mrs. Breland’s 8th grade social studies class participated in Channel One’s Vote across America where teenagers across the United States got to take part in following the presidential debate and casting a ballot of their own.
The Junior Beta Club of Tucker will be packing shoe boxes with toys and school supplies for the children of Tucker Community. You can help the Beta Club by bringing toys, school supplies, or donations to the school by Tuesday, November 20th. Members of the Junior Beta Club include Makaylin Alex, Malaki Charlie, Seriah Cumberland, Zachary Farmer, Kristiana Taylor, Natory Tsosie, Elroy Willis, Sherent Tubby, Kaedre Denson, Gabby Cumberland, Reneesha Farve, Jordyn Frazier, Lorraine Issac, Tayah Latimer, Kijuanah Lewis, Tanaira McCombs, Raven Mingo, Elijah Tubby, Eason John, Jennaya Steve, Kevin Taylor, Cobi John, Keanon McMillian, Candance Mingo, Tyler Bell, Hailey Willis, Dylan Nickey, Hayden Farmer, Isias Joe, and Willis Demanuel. Mrs. Moore’s 4th graders became poets last week as they traveled down the path of writing in all genres. Each student wrote their own limerick and proudly posted it in the class for others to see.
Tucker Science Fair was held October 26, 2013. There were 28 students who participated in the fair. It was an outstanding science fair and we are so proud of the participant’s hard work and dedication. Science Fair Coordinator, Theresa Savell will be working with students as they prepare for the upcoming district science fair.
