Machine Sewing Classes

Friday, October 26

9:30 A.M. ApolloniaVirsnieks“Fabric Mini-wallet” This little wallet provides a very nice place for tucking away important items like credit cards or can be used to hold everyday coupons. In this class you will learn how to make pockets in wallets as well as applying Velcro.

11:00 A.M. Pam Rappe“ ‘3D’ Four Patch Coasters” "Hugs your stem glassware” You will be able to select from two designs of fun and useful coaster patterns. These coasters make very nice shower, birthday and any occasion gifts for yourself or a friend!

12:30 P.M.Gertie Jicinsky“Microwave BowlPockets ” Do you often guess if the bowl that you are about to take out of the microwave will be too hot to touch? These pockets, that stay in the microwave under the bowl, are not only cute, but they also protect your hands from burns caused by dishes that become very hot in the microwave.

2:00 P.M.Linda Bung“Trendy Purses” In this class you will be taught how to make a very pretty purse with a wood piece used to support the purse handle. The shoulder strap is adjustable and the medium size make this purse comfortable and a perfect size to hold your cosmetics and wallet, coin purse,coupons, car keys, Kleenex and all needed.

11:00 A.M.Sharon Hager“E Reader Covers” - Cutting edge gift! Make an ebook (Kindle, Nook…) cover that is a very new item for this year! What a great gift for you and your friends and family!

12:30 P.M. Pam Loveland"Floating 3D Block" -This "floating" block is a new technique that can stand alone, or be finished off in several ways. This class will teach you to make the basic block with variations. The blocks will add extra interest to any quilted item you make in gifts, baby quilts or just anything else. Even a potholder! The process and subsequent varieties will amaze you!Kits for this class will be a variety of Christmas fabrics in reds and greens.

2:00 P.M.Sandy Kellner“Tiny Wrapped Fabric Bowl” - So cute! You will want to make several! You will be taught to wrap clothes line with fabric and sew in place to create adorable fabric bowls!

11:00 A.M.Carol Hvizdak“Fabric Coaster made with the Historic ‘Grandmother’s Flower Garden’ Pattern Enjoyable to sew entirely by hand, this coaster or trivet, makes a great "take-along" project!

12:30 P.M.Priscilla Golz“Meditation Bracelet”An assortment of colorful beads will be used to make an elastic bracelet for you or for a friend.During class, you will also be taught the meaning of individual colors and gem stones.

2:00 P.M.Antoinette’s Quilt Shop “Hankie Heaven” Have fun learning how to work with hankies! You will use actual hankies to discover how to make edges for sewing as well as the math to create beautiful projects.

9:30 A.M.Sandy Lobner“Fabric Fortune Cookies” Very cute for table favors, gift ties or doorprizes! You will be taught how to make these “fun fortune cookies” as well as receiving a number of ideas for writing individual fortunes.

11:00 A.M.Pat Hammeke“Paper Pieced ‘Pine Tree’ Greeting Cards” A pine tree shape opening in cardstock provides the “frame” for this paper pieced card. Review or learn how to paper piece to make this wonderful card!

12:30 P.M. Carol Schallock "Peace Dove Wool Pincushion" Carol returns to teach another wool pin cushion project! For this pin cushion, the word "Peace" is attractively embroidered under the dove wool applique.

2:00 P.M.Kari Benders“Embroidered Ornament” This will be Kari’s 5th year as a teacher for our show! Her seasonal embroidery projects were very much enjoyed as classes. This year Kari will be teaching embroidery in another setting – Ornaments!
