3. Ice Designation
a. Prime Time Ice/Non-Prime Time Ice Designation
‘Prime Time’ ice (approximately 66 hours/week/facility) usage is defined as:
- Monday to Friday, 4:30 p.m. to 12:00 midnight
- Saturday and Sunday, 6:00 a.m. to closing
‘Non-Prime Time’ ice (approximately 10 hours/week/facility) usage is defined as:
- Monday to Friday 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
In order to provide for a “balance” of prime time between user groups, it is recommended as a working principle that adults be assigned priority for prime time after 9:00 p.m. and that the municipality attempt to provide for their own programs prior to 4:30 p.m. This would leave the remaining prime time for youth.
