To provide administrative services as directed by the Derbyshire Victim Services manager and to organise all administrative duties within the office.You will be the central point of contact for victim referrals across Derbyshire.

You will undertake direct correspondence with victims of crime and partnership agencies andinput daily referrals from the Police and self referrals in to the Case Management System

You will be responsible for all initial and any follow up letters/texts to be sent to victims of crime and maintaining up to date systems, procedures and letter templates

You will be required to attend regular team/volunteer meetings and produce accurate and detailed minutes of those meetings

Under this contract all REMEDI personnel will operate under the service title of 'Derbyshire Victim Services' - all references should refer both to the umbrella organisation (REMEDI) and the operational project named 'Derbyshire Victim Services’.

To do this you will need to have certain skills and qualities:

Communication -. As anadministrator you will be expected to have excellent communication skills. You will often be the first person to communicate with someone who has been affected by crime, seeking support. They may be vulnerable and distressed so listening and responding to what is being said so that people feel supported and valued is an essential part of this role.

Flexibility –You will be required to manage the support line from 8am-1pm or 12pm-5pm on a rota basis 5 days per week. As you will be part of the Derbyshire Victim Services team you will be expected to provide out of hours telephone support on a rota basis (5-8pm Mon-Fri and 9-1pm Saturday), this will fall fortnightly for 5-8pm and usually every 6 weeks for Saturday cover, although at times this may be more frequent to cover annual leave and any sickness.

Motivation –The role is very rewarding and enables people affected by crime to Cope and Recover. An ability to work on your own initiativeand identify areas of administration which can be delivered and streamlined for a more effective service is essential. This is not your average Administration role, it is very fast paced and demanding at times. Often you will be the only person in the office taking phone calls and checking in and out practitioners who are on victim visits to ensure their safety.

There will be an expectation of you to promote and raise awareness of the service. We want you to be the type of person that will see this as a challenge you want to meet because when it is achieved, lives are changed.

IT Capable – it is essential that you are proficient in using:

•Email

•Electronic calendar

•Word

•Excel

You will be asked to record and monitor statistics and feedback from victims, this is all done electrically in word and excel. Excellent and up to date upkeep of information is essential.

What to expect

•The role coversDerbyshire but you may be asked to travel to Sheffield and other areas in which Remedi occupy for training and staff development purposes. Expenses will be covered

•Internal and external training will be delivered. The expectation is that you engage in this training and implement it within your working life.

•DBS and vetting. This role will require a DBS check and police vetting to Level 2

•You will have a line manager who you will meet individually at least once a month and they will also be available during the week to provide support and guidance.
