TO: PARENTS OF ALL CHILDREN IN YEAR 3

Dear Parents

Harvington Hall – Wednesday 28th June 2017

We have arranged a visit for our Year 3 children to Harvington Hall. The Hall has a specially designed programme for school visits which is particularly appropriate for Year 3 children in their First Holy Communion year. However in its own right Harvington Hall is a fascinating place of historical significance dating from the Elizabethan era. It was built in the 1580s and has recently been awarded the Sandford Award for Heritage Education.

This trip will be a super opportunity for all the children to learn about life in the Tudor times and see some of the famous priest holes hidden in the hall. However it will also give our First Holy Communicants time to reflect on the sacraments they have recently received. The day will end with Mass in the delightful Georgian Chapel and this will be celebrated by Monsignor Moran. We would like to extend an invite to ALL parents to join us for this part of the day if they are free! (More details of this closer to the time).

The cost of the visit is £10.00 per child which will cover entrance to the hall, a guided tour, coach travel and insurance. As it is not possible to finance this visit from school funds, it is necessary to ask for voluntary contributions from parents. This contribution can be made either by cash, cheque or online via School Money. If you opt to pay via School Money please note there is a transaction charge of .39p per transaction. If however you make this payment in conjunction with another payment, e.g. school dinners/music, then you will be eligible for only one transaction charge. We do not, however, wish any child to be excluded for financial reasons and parents who wish their children to take part but feel unable to make this contribution should contact the school. We require the consent form and money to be returned by Friday 23rd June 2017.

All children will require a snack and a packed lunch and some spending money (max £3) in a named envelope/purse. The coach will leave school at 9.05 am and return before the end of the school day.

Yours sincerely

O Finnegan

Headteacher
