PRAYER OF THE FAITHFUL
Sixth Sunday of Easter
Year A
Invitation to Prayer:
My brothers and sisters,
to God who has bestowed on us the gifts of the Spirit
to proclaim the resurrection of his only Son,
let us offer our prayers
for the needs of the Church and the salvation of all people.
Concluding Prayer:
Faithful and merciful God,
who love us greatly in Christ Jesus,
hear our prayers and send your Spirit of truth to dwell within us,
that we may always reject what is false,
live by the commands of Christ,
and be true to the love you have shown us.
Through Christ our Lord.
Or:
O God,
who in love have poured out your Spirit of adoption upon us
that we may walk in the ways of truth and love,
keep alive in us, we beseech you,
the Spirit of compassion and service,
that we may share with all
the hope and love your Son has given us by his resurrection,
who lives and reigns for ever and ever.

Deacon or Reader:
1For the Church, guided by the Spirit of truth and mission;
for the bishops of the Church, who confer the Holy Spirit on the baptized;
for all disciples of Jesus, anointed by the Spirit to proclaim the love of God;
and for all missionaries, deacons and servants of the Word.
We pray to the Lord.
2.For all who minister to the physical and spiritual needs of our society;
for those who raise the spirits of the dejected;
for the sick and home bound;
and for all volunteers in our parish and community.
We pray to the Lord.
3.For all who are hampered in their work for peace and justice;
for those many nations affected by violence and disasters;
for the plight of Christians in the Middle East and throughout the world;
and for all people who long for peace and harmony.
We pray to the Lord.
4. For those baptized and confirmed throughout this Easter Season;
for all in any need, especially for the sick and home-bound;
and for those who embody God’s compassion in health care.
We pray to the Lord.
5.For the Church’s ministry among young people;
for those preparing for ordination as deacons and priests;
and for vocations to the priesthood, diaconate and religious life.
We pray to the Lord.
6. For the spiritual and physical well-being of all parishioners;
for those who have died recently,
and for all who mourn the loss of a loved one.
We pray to the Lord.
