Job Description

Title: Fundraising &Database Administrator

Hours: 37.50 per week

Location: Hendon NW4

Accountable to:Database Manager

Functional links with: All MDA staff; volunteers and Board members; staff from voluntary and private sector organisations; individual donors and members of the public.

Main purpose of the Job:To accurately maintain the Raiser’s Edge database to provide effective information for the organisationin accordance with agreed objectives as defined by the current three year strategy.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  1. To maintain and update the Raiser’s Edge database including inputting donations and generating thank you letters and receipt where appropriate.
  1. To ensure that all earmarked donations are recorded accurately and in timely manner.
  1. Export donations from various web sites and import them into Raiser’s Edge
  1. To assist the Database Manager & Chief Executive with the database management strategy and to assist in creating policies and updating user manuals as required.
  1. To assist with the preparation, organisation and delivery of fundraising appeals, events and marketing activities in accordance with agreed objectives as defined by the Annual Fundraising and Marketing strategy.
  1. To generate reports and queries as requested by other members of the team when required and act as a ‘Raiser’s Edge Super User’.
  1. To ensure the organisation’s donors receive appropriate donor care.
  1. To manage the MDA Celebratory scheme, including the sending of Certificates to donors when required.
  1. To be responsible for the banking of cash and cheques and the processing of credit card payments
  2. To identify other developments to ensure efficient and effective fundraising.
  1. To keep up to date with the Data Protection Act, and ensure adherence at all times
  1. To have the ability to work flexibly including out of hours working if necessary.
  1. Must be able to organise and prioritise work, be proactive, take initiative, resolve problems, follow through, and simultaneously manage multiple priorities to ensure goals are met in a timely manner
  1. To work as an integral member of the MDA team, supporting and assisting other members of the team and providing admin support as necessary.
  1. To attend all staff, team meetings and training sessions unless given prior exemption by your line manager.
  1. To be willing to undertake training identified by self or management as appropriate.
  1. Responsible of the office administration

  1. Strong database skills in relation to Raiser’s Edge – Creating / Running Queries, Reports, Exports, Imports and Batches.
  1. High level of computer literacy, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and the internet.
  1. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
  1. Strong numeracy skills.
  1. Ability to plan and manage own workload.
  1. Understanding of fundraising; fundraising skills.
