WRITING ABOUT SKILLS AND HOW YOU HAVE USED THEM

EXAMPLES ANSWERS

Example 1

In the scene when my team scored the goal, I used FACIAL EXPESSONS to show how happy my character was at that moment : I widened my eyes in disbelief and held my breath in anticipation. Then as I realised it was indeed a goal, I smiled broadly and I opened my mouth wide to shout my approval. I used GESTURES by punching the air with a fist to show my excitement.

Example 2

When I played a role in the play, Bouncers, I said the line: I’m putting on a funky disco record.

I used a strong Northern accent, which immediately helped the audience understand the importance of the location to the plot.

My voice was loud and aggressive in tone which conveyed my anticipation and excitement. I also used gestures by clenching my fist to emphasise the words. My voice softened slightly when I went on to describe the lights which showed affection and indicated to the audience that I enjoyed my job.

I used open and animated facial expressions by smiling broadly when I said the words ‘colour TV'. My expression was bright, suggesting excitement about what I had to say.
