IMPORTANT CHANGES in the CoR submission process:
  • Effective July 1 CoRs must be uploaded as a word or pdf document OR with a provided link to your curriculum website
  • The OSCAR option will not be available beginninJuly 1 for new CoR submissions
  • Current submitted CoRs to OSCAR for future review for IGETC, CSU GE, etc. are not accessible for consideration for C-ID faculty review, therefore, faculty are often reviewing CoRs that date back more than 5 years
  • This becomes problematic as CoRs are then CONDITIONALLY APPROVED resulting in double work for AOs, C-ID staff and faculty reviewers
  • It is our goal to have this function available again in Fall 2011; the ASSIST staff is working on a more streamlined access to all CoRs available in OSCAR for C-ID in order to make this process work as efficiently as possible for all!
If you have a CONDITIONALLY APPROVED COURSE:
  • You have one year for the CoR to be re-submitted
  • Go to the C-ID submission area and click on the tab at the bottom of the page - “View Conditional or Not Approved Courses”
  • Your list of courses in this category will appear
  • Choose to “edit” the course in order to make the necessary updates for re-submission
/ C-ID Course Approval Update
  • There are 248 approved C-ID descriptors; 35 draft descriptors open for review until Oct. 16; 21 draft descriptors with closed review
  • 46 CCCs have approved CoRs
  • 239 courses have been granted C-ID identifiers
TMC UPDATE Finalized TMCs available on the C-ID website include:
Administration of Justice/Criminal Justice Art History Business Communication Studies Early Childhood Education/Child Development English Geology History Kinesiology Physics Political Science Psychology Sociology Studio Arts Theatre

Faculty CoR (COREs) still needed:
  • Faculty Review Discipline Groups (FDRGs) and newly appointed CoR Evaluators (COREs) are being trained this summer for the course outline review process. Group and/or individual training is available.
  • Increasing the number of faculty for course outline reviews will result in a more timely CoR submission and response process.
  • If you know of faculty interested in participating as a CORE, please ask them to e-mail
/ DESCRIPTOR DISCIPLINE UPDATE – next review period ends October 16
  • Due to the need for more faculty review of descriptors, some disciplines have been re-posted descriptors for faculty vetting to the C-ID website. IT IS CRITICAL that the disciplines get more faculty reviews –notices of the re-postings and new draft postings for vetting are sent via the discipline list-serves. Visit and sign up your faculty for their discipline list-serves to ensure they receive information to participate in thedevelopment and vetting of degrees in their field
  • AOs are also welcome to sign up for any discipline list serve so they receive notification of descriptor postings and finalizations
