ABOUT US
The Midwest Roping Assoc. was organized in 1990, and has promoted team roping in Northwest SK since its inception. It’s region stretches from Turtleford to Saskatoon, from Spiritwood to North Battleford..
Our goals are to promote community spirit, recreation, and social interaction. We encourage families, business people, youth, and other interested parties to engage in team roping for business or pleasure.
OUR ROPING CATEGORIES
Youth, ages 3-17yrs, learning to rope can start on the ground by roping a dummy head and then advance to our beginner category. A low membership of $30.00/year is required for youth to rope. In 2011 our club included an additional youth event of barrel racing for youth 15yrs and under to compete in. This was another great success!
All other roping categories receive the same year-end prizes, regardless of age and skill level. We follow the Canadian Team Roping Handicap system to provide an equal playing field for ropers of different skill levels. For the members who accumulate the most points in their category there is a final rope-off event, where a large amount of cash can be earned.
We feel the youth are motivated by the honor of reaching this rope-off event, and set goals throughout the year to improve enough to earn their spot in the rope-off. In fact, we have already had youth members compete in these events!
We always welcome guests to come out and participate with a low daily membership of $20.00 to enter any of our daily events. Our present categories range from beginner to semi-pro.

Our club’s goals are to increase the number of participants at jackpots, the dollars paid out, and the prizes available to members who excel in their categories. We are hoping you will help us fulfill our goals.
As a Sponsor you may choose your level of sponsorship. The Midwest will advertise your sponsorship through announcements at events and on our website. The earlier we receive your donation, the more advertising you receive throughout our roping season.
