Job Description:Kids project social worker

Line Manager:Director

Salary:NJC 26 plus Inner London Weighting (pro-rata)

Hours of Work:14 per week (2 days)

The Kids project social worker holds operational responsibility, under the director, for the support and development of the Pre-School Ageprogramme for children living with or affected by HIV.The post is accountable to the director andTrustees of the Cara Trust.

Duties

1.0Service Delivery

1.1Consult with parents on appropriate activities and locations for the weekly outings.

1.2Research necessary health & safety and child protection arrangements.

1.3Research and schedule a weekly programme of activities, within agreed budget.

1.4Deliver weekly activity group in community settings, with support from parents, volunteers and student social worker(s).

1.5Provide a one-to-one casework service focused on Housing, Small grants, benefits and other appropriate issues.

1.6Research and develop appropriate referral pathways to other specialist providers, such as immigration services.

1.7Manage volunteers and student social workers re project delivery.

2.0Monitoring & Evaluation

2.1Undertake monitoring to the requirement of the Cara Trust and relevant funding bodies.

2.2Liaise with project evaluator to ensure that all required information is captured.

2.3Prepare brief reports as required by Cara director.

3.0Miscellaneous

3.1Work within the guidelines and policies set by The Cara Trust.

3.2Undertake regular supervision with director.

3.3Take on other duties as appropriate to this role as determined by discussion with director.

3.4Undertake training appropriate to this post, in order to develop and maintain professional skills and good working practices.
