The said George Matter had surveyed 161 ½ a. Earl tp., a tract now called “First Mill,” situate near Mill Creek, adjoining Peter Rab, Jacob Kinser, John Linder, and land surveyed unto the Widow Leviston.

Note: Urban Long obtained a warrant dated 17 June 1742 for land situate in Bethel Township, Lancaster County.

Note: Neither Lancaster Deed X616 nor Lancaster Deed 6-232 make mention of the 31-acre tract warranted to Sarah Liebenstein. I have assumed that separate indentures involving this parcel were made but not recorded, as suggested by Lancaster Deed 7-96.

Note: Christian Lang—presumably the brother of Urban Lang—obtained a 1734 warrant for land adjoining that of Urban Lang; however, no survey was returned and the claim was vacated. It is uncertain which adjoining property this would be--

On 22 Apr 1773, George Matter mortgaged the property & mill to Beulah Paschall of Philadelphia (Ref. Deed N279). As part of this agreement, Christian Ruth agrees to pay the remaining principal and interest.

Lancaster Deed B5-446: Henry Mering, late of Earl tp., acquired certain property from Peter Lichty via deeds 6-232 and 6-235. The said Henry Mering later died leaving issue the following children: John Mering, Henry Mering, Eva the wife of George Ranck, and Catharine the wife of George Bolig. Now, the said heirs release their right & title to certain parcels of land to their said brother Henry Mering.
