Why I love my ecar competition –Short video Terms & Conditions

Terms & Conditions for those who take part in video training.

If you take part in the video training online session you must:

1)Submit a video entry by the deadline date given

2)Adhere to all of the T&Cs associated with the Short Video competition called ‘Why I love my ecar’

To enter the short video competition, your film must meet the following brief criteria;

•The film subject matter must be based on why the entrant loves their Electric Vehicle (EV).

•The film MUST qualify for a ‘Universal’ age group and therefore be family friendly e.g.no swearing, no exposures to violence on camera.

•The video must show Electric Vehicles in a positive light and focus on the benefits of Electric Vehicles.

•The film must last no longer than 5 minutes and no shorter than 3 minutes, and be uploaded to YouTube (see T&Cs).
Prizes will be given as follows:
1st prize: 13 inch MacBook Air (128GB)
2nd prize: iPad Air 2 (64GB)

NOTE: It is recommended that you do not show the number plate of your vehicle in your video. This is for your own privacy.

Any submissions must be made accessible to be promoted as part of the ecar campaign and for DRD/DOE in the future including for social media and further promotions.

Why I love my ecar Short Video Competition - Terms & Conditions

This short video competition is organised by the Department for Regional Development (DRD) and the Department of the Environment (DOE). Below, you'll find the terms and conditions of the competition. They'll tell you all the important stuff you need to know, like when you need to submit your entry by, what format it needs to be in and how short it has to be.

How do I enter?

All entries must be uploaded to YouTube and an email sent to:

The email must contain the following subject line: ecar short video [entrants name]
Body of email must contain:
Link to YouTube video entry
Entrants name
Entrants address
Entrants telephone number
Entrants email address

Who can enter?
Anyone who is a resident in Northern Ireland may enter. You may submit EITHER an article OR a short video. One person cannot submit both an article and short video.
Closing date
All entries must be uploaded to YouTube and email link received by DRD/DOE no later than 5pm on Friday 27th February. Late or incomplete entries will be rejected.
How long can it be?
Total running time for each video must be no longer than 5 minutes and no shorter than 3 minutes, including titles and credits.
Content
DRD reserves the right:
• not to publish or distribute your Content on their own sites;
• to edit your content for the purpose of promoting the Competition and/or the work of DRD/DOE.
Language
Your film must be in English or subtitled in English.

Important

This section (Licence, Warranty and Indemnity) plays a vital part in ensuring that there are no legal obstacles to us showcasing your work. Please make sure you read and understand it.

License

In consideration of DRD/DOE permitting you to submit your Content and enter the Competition, you grant to DRD/DOE from the date of submission of your entry a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sub-licensable right and licence in perpetuity to:

• use, host, reproduce, edit, publish, distribute, transmit and otherwise make use of the Content or part thereof in any and all media and means of distribution now known or hereafter devised, including but not limited to cinemas, linear television, television video on demand, multimedia distribution systems, the internet and mobile applications;
• use any trademarks, service marks or trade names (e.g. brand names, logos) incorporated in the Content; and
• use the name and likeness of any individuals represented in the Content.

In addition, you agree to waive all so-called "moral rights" to the Content. (This is so we can, for example, showcase excerpts of your Film alongside excerpts of other film makers' entries for promotions at a later date).
Warranties
You represent, warrant and agree that:
• you are the owner of all the rights in the Content (including but not limited to the Film) and there are no disputes regarding ownership of the Content and you have the full authority to submit the Content;
• you are entitled to grant to DRD/DOE the rights set out in the above licence.
No Content (or part thereof) submitted by you will:

• be defamatory, abusive or offensive;
• infringe the copyright, moral right, performing rights, rights of privacy, trade mark or other proprietary right of any third party;
• constitute a misuse of any confidential information of a third party;
• adversely affect the reputation of DRD/DOE;
• be false or misleading or omit information that should be disclosed by you or
• contain software viruses or any other computer code, files or programs designed to affect the functionality of any computer software or hardware or telecommunications equipment;
• ensure any necessary consent, waiver, clearance, licence or approval required for DRD/DOE to make use of the Content as set out in the above licence has been obtained and that any fees or payments relating thereto have been paid; and
• you have not entered into, nor will you enter into, any agreement or arrangement which could conflict with your obligations DRD/DOE under these terms and conditions.
Indemnity

You hereby indemnify DRD/DOE against any claims arising out of or in connection with any Content, including but not limited to a claim arising out of or in connection with a breach of any of the warranties set out above.
Publicity
By entering the Competition, you agree to be named in the media and to participate in as many promotional and press activities.
Insurance

DRD/DOE cannot take responsibility for any loss or damage to Content or such Content's delivery materials, so you will be sending your delivery materials at your own risk.

Prizes
Prizes will be awarded by 30th April 2015.
Judging
Entries will be judged by the representatives from DRD and DOE. Judges will assess each entry against the following four criteria:

Criteria / Detail / Weighting
Creativity and originality / The film should be brand new and should not be copied from other sources. The film should be valuable to those who are unaware of the benefits of EVs. / 25%
Relevance to the benefits of EVs / The film should detail the benefits of driving and owning an EV. / 25%
Coherence, image & sound quality / The film and its contents should be heard and seen clearly. Language and speech used should be understood easily. / 25%
Overall impression & enjoyment / The film should be interesting and hold the judges attention. / 25%

Decisions
The judges' decisions in all matters are final and no correspondence will be entered into. In the event of there being no reply from the email address or phone number provided after 5 working days, that DRD/DOE reserve the right to shortlist the next best entry.

If entries are deemed not fit for purpose DRD/DOE reserved the right to award no prizes to any entrants.

If the winner is not contactable after 5 working days, DRD/DOE has the right to award the prize to the next place.
Miscellaneous
DRD/DOE accepts no responsibility for lost, late or undelivered entries, notifications or communications. DRD/DOE reserves the right at its sole discretion to:
• cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Competition; or
• amend these terms and conditions where reasonably necessary.
By entering the Competition, you give DRD/DOE permission to contact you from time to time with essential updates about the Competition and, of course, contact you if you've won.
