Instructional Strategies: How will I teach it
Include grouping:
Sm group, pairs, individual, whole group / The teacher will pass out Bookmarks and spelling words. Students will also be assigned RWN pgs. 204 and 209. Students will write agenda for the week.
Students will begin the bell ringer through Lone Star Reading.
TTW introduce “A Circle” to the class. Students will be told what a Circle is and what is expected. Students will then be encouraged to help develop guidelines for our Circle. Once the guidelines have been established and agreed to TTW begin the first Circle with a talking piece and questions (highlighted in pink) to encourage students to feel comfortable in their “Circle Community”.TTW will then close the circle with a quote.
TTW introduce our next Novel Study-Wonder, by R.J. Palacio with the song “Wonder”. Students will read/listen to Ordinary, Why I didn’t Go to School, How I Came to Life, and Christopher’s House (pgs. 3-90 while following along in their books. / Students will begin the bell ringer through Lone Star Reading.
Students will begin class with a Circle. The Circle’s purpose will be to continue to engage students and give them a sense of community within the classroom (Highlighted in orange)
TTW then close the Circle with a quote.
Students will begin grammar lesson- Review Common and Proper nouns and begin Singular and Plural Nouns.

TTW allow students to draw one vocabulary word to define for the class. Students will write their definition on chart paper
