Expression of interest - teaching staff

The Tamworth Local Arts Council, formed in 2014, consists of six teacher and six principal representatives from schools in the Tamworth Operational Directorate. These members commit to work as part of the Arts Council for a period of 2 to 3 years.

Educational Services is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified or experienced teachers to take up positions for 2017 – 2019.

The role of the Local Arts Council is:

  • to support the implementation of the Arts Education Framework;
  • to assess and prioritise applications for funding for arts education programs catering for local needs or satisfying the consistent delivery model;
  • to provide leadership opportunities in the coordination of best practice arts education programs and projects.

Commitment:

  • Review arts grant applications in preparation for meetings; assess and rank applications against grant application criteria.
  • Attend one video conference meeting, inearlyTerm 4 each year and a possible second video conference meeting inTerm 1 of the following year to determine recommendations for successful arts grants.

How to be involved:

  • Primary and secondary teaching staff with expertise in dance, digital media, drama, music, visual arts and events coordination are invited to nominate for membership of the Local Arts Council for 2017 - 2019.
  • The Primary Principals’ Association and Secondary Principals’ Council will be consulted to nominateprincipal representatives.
